Day 1

Well, I have arrived in Jerusalem! The Center is one of the most beautiful buildings I have ever seen. My room overlooks the entire city! Also, the room that we have sacrament meeting in has a breath-taking view of East Jerusalem. Today, we all woke up around 4 AM to the Call to Prayer that happens five times a day. Breakfast hasn't started yet, but after breakfast we're taking a tour of the city.

Last night, we took a tour of the center, which has eight floors & many many stairs. After this, we all ate dinner (the chicken curry was amazing) & had a slight orientation, which many of us fell asleep in. During the two hours that our teachers were talking to us my only thoughts were on sleep. Finally, I hit the pillow and was out within probably 30 seconds. It was one of the most satisfying sleeps of my life.

  3. I hope you are taking a lot of pictures. It sounds amazing. I have a book by Truman Madsen who used to be the director of the center and he talks about the room where you hold sacrament meeting. He talks about the spiritual experiences the students have during sacrament meeting.
