Day 1

Well, I have arrived in Jerusalem! The Center is one of the most beautiful buildings I have ever seen. My room overlooks the entire city! Also, the room that we have sacrament meeting in has a breath-taking view of East Jerusalem. Today, we all woke up around 4 AM to the Call to Prayer that happens five times a day. Breakfast hasn't started yet, but after breakfast we're taking a tour of the city.

Last night, we took a tour of the center, which has eight floors & many many stairs. After this, we all ate dinner (the chicken curry was amazing) & had a slight orientation, which many of us fell asleep in. During the two hours that our teachers were talking to us my only thoughts were on sleep. Finally, I hit the pillow and was out within probably 30 seconds. It was one of the most satisfying sleeps of my life.

Waiting...

I'm sitting in the Salt Lake City International Airport as I write. We fly through New York and then on to Tel Aviv(Israel). We will arrive tomorrow at 1:35 pm local time. It's a long flight, but I'm ready and I can't wait to finally embark upon the long-awaited adventure. Sadly, the internet is quite slow in Jerusalem and will not allow me to upload pictures here, but I will surely post them when I return to the United States. I'll be sure to write about my many amazing adventures via this blog. I'm grateful for this opportunity I've been blessed with. Farewell, readers...
